A Full Weekend
This was a full weekend.
As Ive said 2 blogs ago, Im trying to come out and live a life. I started coming out of my bubble and do normal things (but still very carefully) like before, and I have to say, Ive never been happier. This may be the happiest Ive been since 2020.
Im trying to blog more, i'm also studying how to edit videos - I have a youtube channel that I upload some of my edited videos. It's not as good as I want it to be, but hey, i'm still learning.
Im also traveling more, this weekend, I finally went to my Mom's hometown, Candelaria, Zambales. The last time Ive been there was 2017 and the town changed drastically. All my street markers are lost, there are more houses by the highway, more businesses and resorts.
I barely recognize the place but still, it was still nice! I haven't seen some of my cousins, aunts and uncles in those 5 years, and haven't visited my grandparents grave since they died.
We stayed at Potipot Gateway, a quaint little resort that is teeming with greenery. I really enjoyed walking around the resort, with yellow and purple bells over the trellis and walk ways, hammocks attached to trees (like the old days), viewing seats towards the beach and the Potipot Island, and all the wildlife, which includes a peahen (which i did not go near or take a picture of as I have ornithophobia).
The way to get to the resort was also a good challenge- a wooden bridge over a river, my niece was actually afraid as some of the wood were either rotted or loose, but still very safe.
We stayed in a family room that can house 5 people or more, you just have to ask for an extra bed. You also have a nice balcony you can stay in, if you just want to catch the sunrise or sunset.
What I really like about the resort, is that they have no wifi (for now). Which really helped me disconnect from the internet.
The food was delish too, we had the boodle fight sans the banana leaf. I also ate Kilawin, I still have some rash from my allergies but I didnt care I still ate it (I also had benadryl just in case)
We also went trekking the next day (its just a mini trek) to Lalul, which has a cave that serves as a place of worship with religious artifacts everywhere.
When it rains and during the rainy season, the cave becomes flooded with clear mountain water that serve as a good swim spots for the locals.
Here's to more adventures this 2022.
